TCeurope, the organisation representing national technical communication associations in Europe, announces its annual colloquium in Paris, France on Saturday 17 April 2010. Admission is free. Click here for more details.

Technical Communication UK 2009

Our new annual conference for technical communicators, their managers and clients was a runaway success, with more than double the number of delegates of the 2008 ISTC Conference and a lively exhibition too.

The conference team are already looking forward to the 2010 event, which will be held at the Oxford Belfry in September 2010.

WORDS - A Quarterly Bulletin for Technical Writers & Communicators

WORDS is a quarterly publication for techncial authors and communicators in Australia. The August 2009 issue carries a UK flavour, and was prepared in collaboration with Marian Newell (ISTC council), Ellis Pratt (Cherryleaf), Peter Meherne (Plain Words) and Kate Macumber, an Australian technical author working here in the UK.

Continuing Professional Development

A major focus for the ISTC in 2008 is Continuing Professional Development. We recognize the need to undertake annual CPD to extend and update our skills to retain a competitive skill set. To this end, we have opened a CPD section in the Members Area, with links to CPD providers and discounted CPD courses.

Thoughts on style

The ISTC Discussion Group has produced some thoughts about style, intended as an overview to the subject. It is the thoughts of the discussion group and not a definitive set of standards. These thoughts can be found in the Resources area.
