Individuals can join the ISTC at any stage of their career, from students to advanced specialists, and retired professionals or those who are considering a career move into technical communication.
The grade of membership is decided by the application committee. All members gain access to support, publications, events, and community networks.
If you have no experience or training but are interested in learning about the profession, you can apply for Associate Member grade.

Organisations of any size can join the ISTC as a Business Affiliate. Joining our Business Affiliate programme can help you find the right candidate for a role and provides several financial and business benefits.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels provide tailored packages to suit organisations of any size.
The ISTC is the only technical communication membership organisation in the UK. The ISTC is run by its members, for its members – Business Affiliates included.

Application Process
Our membership committee reviews applications and helps candidates to join at an appropriate grade. You can choose to pay your membership fee in monthly instalments or annually.
