The ISTC is a non-profit-making organisation which is run by its members on behalf of its members. It is not part of, nor does it belong to, any commercial company, trade union or political party.
The ISTC is the oldest society of its kind, with roots going back over fifty years. For all of that time, we have been at the forefront of representing the interests of the technical communication community.
The Institute is managed by the ISTC Council, who are an elected team of volunteers.
The Council is supported by a professional administration services team, and other professionals where required, to ensure the quality of our events, publications and communications.
A network of volunteers from the ISTC membership gets involved with projects to organise and run activities and events, and maintain resources.
